2023 ICT COMPETITION
Is an initiative of NCS Ogun State Chapter slated for May, 2023
Nigeria Computer Society, Ogun State Chapter is inviting your school to this year’s edition of the YELE OKEREMI IT BRAINS competition and TALENT HUNTS competition for the year 2023.
The Society however want to say a big thank you for your participation in the previous editions of the competition, nevertheless, this is another year and edition to showcase the skilled and talented tech students/pupils in your school.
It’s worthy to state here that the first stage of the competition would be virtual mode which implies that students/pupils would connect to the CBT link to compete, represent and answer the series of questions which would be in different formats (i.e, objectives, theories, fill in the gap, basic coding and diagram representations)
The second and final stage would be a physical mode, all qualified schools would meet at the venue (OGUN TECHUB KOBAPE) for the final stage of the contest.
Kindly note that there is no fee attached to this year’s edition of the competition as its completely free of charge. This implies that you can register your pupils/students for the competition as soon as possible.
Please be informed that the Society has collated and compiled previous edition of the competition’s past question and its available for sale at the rate of #2000 only for each of the category. Kindly read below the guideline for registration.
- Go to www.ncsogun.org.ng, navigate to the competition page, and select the competition you want to register for.
- Put in the required data for the registration and submit.
- Repeat the process if you would be registering for both competition.
- Kindly note that JSS 3 students are not be registered for this competition, the Junior category is strictly meant for the JSS1 – JSS2 students.

- All schools shall have a log in details that would be sent to the registered email address to sign up on the CBT portal.
- The two students/pupils representing each school are to work together (two pupils on a system).
- A virtual room link shall be sent to all the registered school where all shall join for remote monitoring of the competition while on going.
- All ICT teachers are advised not to seat beside the student writing the exam but seat far away from the students and ensure that they face the camera while the students face the computer. Hence, both the computer screen and the back of the students writing the exam must be seen and displayed properly in a proper sitting position and comfort zone
- We are all advice to ensure that the premises each school would be using for the examination is absolutely quiet and only the candidates writing the exam shall be seen with the ICT teacher. NB: No other students should be seen in such premises.
- The following items are therefore recommended to be available prior to the competition.
✔Good and strong Internet Service Provider (ISP).
✔A tall camera stand that either the camera, webcam, phone device, laptop or whichever device the school will use be in place or any other method as the case may be.
✔Prepare all pupils/students mind for a mock version of the competition.
✔A laptop or a PC with webcam medium.
12. Schools representatives are to be informed that they are not allowed to open any web browser tab or what so ever, as all activities are been recorded and monitored with codes and scripts onces logged in. However, schools are to note that their representatives can and would be logged out automatically once irregular activities on the web based application for the competition is been detected by the algorithm software. NB: automatic surveillance is been launched by the software once schools are logged in all should note and inform pupils/student representing each schools.
