THEME: “E-Health: A Strategic System for National Development”
IT Development Contest for Computer Science Students
The programme is for students of Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematical Sciences from all tertiary institutions in South West, Nigeria. The objectives of the programme are:-
To provide the needed medium of interaction between international organizations and students of tertiary institutions in South West, Nigeria.
To provide the medium of interaction among the students of tertiary institutions in South West
To provide a platform for encouraging institutions in South West to participate in National and International competitions such as Microsoft, Oracle, and Google competitions among others.
Notable IT Professionals are expected to make presentations during the programme.
Your institution would be expected to send 4 students representatives to the programme
(i. e. 2 students for Software Development competition, 2 students for IT Quiz competition and Innovation Presentation contest).

On Software Development competition, participants are to develop a “Efficient Health Management System” from scratch (i.e. no-third party library/external code snippets) using suitable technologies from:
Suggested Programming Languages: Php / C sharp / VB.Net / ASPX / Java/ JSP /Python
Suggested Database Management Systems: MySQL / MS-SQL Server / Oracle
Suggested Web Scripting and Styling Languages: Javascript / JQuery /CSS / Vbscript
Schools are to forward the list of software development tools (and version) that will be required by their teams two weeks before the competition to this email aborisadeda@funaab.edu.ng
On IT Innovation Presentation Contest, students are to defend a proposal on “E-Health Model for National Development”. The proposal should discuss areas like: Problem definition, existing solutions and their weaknesses, Detailed description of the proposed solution, Feasibility of the solution and cost implication.
Furthermore, all Presidents of Computer Science/IT Students’ Association (NACOSS) are expected to be in attendance to make a total of 5 students from each institution. A lecturer (Coach) is also expected to come with the students. The list of participants together with the scanned copy of the payment teller should be sent to: aborisadeda@funaab.edu.ng before the programme day.
